Michael Dale Largent 1954 - 2016

Michael Dale Largent  1 September 1954 - 29 April 2016

Mike was born 1 September 1954 at Ten Mile Creek near Republic, Washington to Harold and Patricia, "Pat" (Davis) Largent  When he was 15 the family moved to Waitsburg, Washington where he was graduated from high school in 1972.  The next year his father died.

Mike married Kathleen May Young on 25 November 1980 in Walla Walla, Washington and gained a young stepson: Jim-Bob.  Mike and Kathy had a son: Michael or "Howie".  Mike and Kathy eventually joined the LDS Church.

Mike worked for ranchers in the West which took his family to Jordan Valley, Oregon; New Mexico; Bruneau, Idaho; and Diamond, Oregon. Mike and Kathy raised their granddaughter Elizabeth from a baby.   Kathy was killed in a an automobile wreck on 29 January 2011.  Mike married Shaelene Gillenwater in Crane, Oregon on 2 September 2011 and shortly thereafter they moved to Eureka, Nevada where he continued working on ranches.

Mike thoroughly enjoyed the bi-annual Largent reunions often taking his vacation to attend them driving sometimes the farthest and often arriving a day early and leaving the day after they were over. He enjoyed getting the youngsters of the family out of bed in the morning, ringing the dinner bell loudly, starting "food fights", and encouraging everyone to have a good time.

Mike is survived by his wife Shaelene of Eureka, Nevada; mother Pat Largent of Waitsburg; brother Dick (Connie) of Waitsburg; brother Cecil of Woodenville, WA; a sister, Cassie Largent of Battle Ground, WA; his stepson Jim-Bob of Emmett  and son Michael (Chelsea) Largent of Caldwell, and five grandchildren:  Corbin and Lexi Young of Emmett and Elizabeth, Oakley, and Zander Largent of Calwell. The Largent family held a memorial service in Council, Idaho on 8 May 2016.  Interment followed on 12 May 2016 at Fortuna, California.
